Software developer Next Kraftwerke has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Toshiba's energy systems arm to help it develop a virtual power plant (VPP).
The balancing and frequency markets will double in value by 2030 as the evolution of the power market creates £6 billion of investment opportunity for battery storage and other flexible and distributed generation assets.
Utility firm SSE has selected Origami Energy to support the launch of a new virtual power plant which will provide flexibility services to its C&I customers.
