Prime minister Keir Starmer has announced that the UK and Ireland will closely collaborate on developing subsea energy infrastructure to help boost offshore wind in the Celtic Sea.
Energy supplier Shell has invested in the Renewables for Subsea Power (RSP) collaborative project, currently powering subsea equipment off the coast of Orkney.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission has confirmed that a Marine Licence has been provided for a 2GW “East Coast Subsea Electricity Superhighway”.
