Bringing in a 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles could create 32,000 new jobs and increase GDP by 0.2%, equivalent to £4.2 billion.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has proposed changes to the Smart Energy Code that would allow network companies to switch off technologies like domestic electric vehicle (EV) chargers in the event of an emergency.
Ofgem’s RIIO-2 Draft Determinations risk system reliability and will result in missing 2030 targets according to SSEN Transmission, with SPEN also wading in to brand the proposals “unacceptable”.
