The Crowdflex project – run by SSEN Distribution, National Grid ESO, Octopus Energy and Ohme – has found that domestic flexibility can significantly reduce peak demand, with further reductions enabled by electric vehicles (EV).
A consortium of energy companies, including National Grid ESO, SSEN, Octopus Energy and Ohme have announced the ‘largest domestic flexibility study’ ever held in the UK, dubbed CrowdFlex.
Octopus Energy and Ohme are among companies to have been awarded a contract for a new virtual plant (VPP) set to largely utilise electric vehicles (EVs).
