Flexibility marketplace Piclo is targeting further international expansion into new regions across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific, having raised £8.3 million.
Project Local Energy Oxfordshire (LEO), led by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Distribution, has revealed “key recommendations” from its grid flexibility trials to create an “energy system of the future.”
Flexibility market provider Piclo has expanded into Portugal, announcing a new collaboration with E-REDES, Portugal’s largest distribution system operator (DSO).
New flexibility providers are being recruited as part of Project Local Energy Oxfordshire (LEO) in conjunction with Scottish and Southern Electricity Network’s (SSEN) TRANSITION project.
Western Power Distribution’s (WPD) project Intraflex has allowed flexibility services in a local distribution network to be traded in close to real-time continuously, allowing market prices to be determined for the first time, it said.
