UK energy market data operator ElectraLink has published data that shows 212,000 smart meters were installed across Great Britain in March, an increase of 17% month-on-month.
Energy data transfer regulator ElectraLink said the final figure for smart meter installations in 2022 reached 2.37 million – slightly lower than the 2.42 million reported in 2021.
Following the usual slow period over the festive season and “extraordinary disruption” from the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the installation of smart meters in Great Britain has picked back up.
ElectraLink, the Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo) and REC Code Manager have teamed up to integrate existing market data into retail energy market performance assurance.
