The energy sector has rallied to concur with the conclusion drawn by the Climate Change Committee (CCC) in its latest annual report on the UK Government’s progress in reducing carbon emissions (published 28 June) declaring that the UK is “failing in much of its [renewable energy] implementation.”
The Climate Change Committee (CCC) has released a new report highlighting that the net zero transition could create in upwards of 725,000 net jobs by 2030.

An expert group has concluded that the biggest challenges this decade to decarbonisation is the mobilisation of the huge quantities of investment required to scale low-carbon generation, storage and networks.
In a bid to mitigate the rising costs of gas and fossil fuels and support the energy transition, the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) and Climate Change Committee (CCC) has written to Liz Truss advocating for the expansion of renewables.
Following on from the launch of the CCC's behemoth progress report, Current± caught up with the energy sector to see how it was responding to the call to action for government.
