The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has unveiled its new domestic renewable heat incentive calculator tool.
The tool is designed to allow end customers estimate what payments they would expect to receive from the various technologies on offer through the RHI (solar thermal, air source heat pump, ground source heat pump, biomass).
The calculator has been designed to provide a quick estimate based on a recent Energy Performance Certificate but also allows for users to manually enter their property’s details. The resulting estimates provide users with an idea of what they can expect in payments per quarter, annually, over the seven-year lifetime and the payment tariff they would be eligible for.
The domestic RHI is just over a year old and has seen more than 25,000 households receive payments under the scheme. According to the latest figures published by Ofgem, there has been 15,688 legacy applications and 6,244 in the year that the scheme has been operational.
